Meet PPEC's new linemen apprentices

After four years of on-the-job training and hands-on classes at our state-of-the-art Central Ohio Lineworker Training facility in Mt. Gilead, Adam and Mike will be full-fledged linemen.

From: Miller City

Why did you want the job?
“I’ve always wanted a rewarding career, and I’d like to help serve the members of the cooperative. I’m also looking forward to learning more about the trade and gaining experience in things I’ve never seen before as I work to become a journeyman lineman.

Favorite thing about PPEC: “The camaraderie among the crew and the work hours are a plus for me. Everyone has been very helpful leading me in the right direction.”

Hobbies: “I love to BBQ and cook about anything. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.”

Fun fact: “My graduating class in high school only had 36 students in it.”

Meet Michael Taylor

Start date: Nov. 20, 2019

From: Antwerp (renting in Hicksville)

Why did you want the job? “I’ve always wanted to be a lineman because I love working with electricity and being outside. In my mind, it’s an elite job that’s always interested me. I’m excited to learn what it will take to become a lineman.”

Favorite thing about PPEC: “Definitely the guys! I’m still in training, but the guys are amazing. Everyone tries to help you and make sure you have a great time at work.”

Hobbies: “I like hunting, fishing, and working on guns.”

Fun fact: “My brother and I put a pole up in the back pasture and have been practicing climbing to get a job as a lineman.”
