How do you spend your free time?
I like to farm with my son; we have over 300 acres of land for it. I also enjoy attending my grandkids' activities.
What is a fun or little-known fact about yourself?
I attended Ohio State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Production Management in 1975.
Why did you want to become a PPEC trustee?
I wanted to help the cooperative keep costs down for the members while still maintaining reliable service.
Why do you think people should be involved in their electric company?
The co-op is a source for community involvement, which many people don’t understand. From local sponsorships to youth programs, safety education, and more, PPEC plays a huge role in empowering our communities. If you pay attention, you will learn so much.
What do you love most about your community?
The Ottowa area is a very close-knit community with families who are there for you in your time of need.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to be a farmer.
What’s a saying/motto you live by?
"Always be humble and kind."
What are you most concerned about when you think of the electric industry in the future?
I am concerned that there is potential for our coal plant (Cardinal Generating Station) to be shut down due to the EPA and government regulations. This would really hurt our members and interfere with the reliable, affordable service PPEC provides that members have come to expect.
