With our first annual meeting in 1936, Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative a robust, member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility. We are different than your standard investor-owned utility like AEP because we are owned by the customers we serve (we do not have shareholders), which is how we bring at-cost power to our members.
We have a 9-member board of trustees, who set policy and strategic goals for the cooperative. Our board is elected democratically by and for our membership, consisting of one member from each of the 9 districts.
We are also community-focused, as we were literally built by the communities we serve. The cooperative business model truly is unique!
