PPEC is facing a potential shortage of electricity due to extreme temperatures causing unusually high demand for electricity.
To improve the situation, all members are asked to reduce their electricity use until further notice. Please conserve electricity by lowering your home temperature as much as possible and reducing your use of water heaters, electronics, and large appliances.
If the electricity shortage does not improve, PPEC may be forced to enact the emergency load reduction plan, which could result in temporary rolling power outages.
If you or someone you care for is dependent on life-supporting medical devices, make plans now in case electric service interruption becomes necessary.
We encourage you to share this information with others who could be affected but may not receive these updates, for example, an elderly neighbor or loved one.
We understand that even a brief power outage can be uncomfortable. Please know PPEC is working closely with our power supplier, Buckeye Power, to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We will keep members updated on this situation on our website and Facebook page. For more information, call 1-800-686-2357.
