We are excited to welcome Drew DeCaire, Apprentice Lineman, to the PPEC team!
Here's a fun Q&A with Drew to help our members get to know the newest member of our PPEC family.
Tell us a bit about your family and where you're from.
"My parents were born and raised and have lived in Coldwater, Michigan, for their whole life. I am also from Coldwater and have two older sisters and a dog."
Why did you want to work at PPEC?
"I have family friends and family members who are linemen, and they told me a lot about the trade. After high school, I went to SLTC in Trenton, Georgia, for line school. I found PPEC and thought I could give it a shot, and I ended up getting the position."
Tell us about your work history.
"Throughout high school and until I got hired here at PPEC, I worked for an excavation company in Quincy, Michigan. We would demo abandoned houses and buildings in our area. We would also do regular excavating jobs like setting grade, digging basements, building barn pads, etc."
What will you be doing here at PPEC?
"I am currently an Apprentice Lineman here at PPEC. Some of my goals are to be able to learn from the journeymen with whom I will be working and to learn more about the trade itself."
What are you looking forward to?
"I am looking forward to being able to work with a crew and start to learn how things are the proper and safe way."
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
"I love to go golfing with my friends, enjoying days on the lake back home, and fishing with my dad."
A fun fact about you?
"I played travel baseball from the ages 8 to 16. We even got to play in the 14U National Baseball Tournament."
A favorite quote or motto that inspires you or you like to live by?
"Everything will work out in the end."
Anything else you would like to add?
"I am very happy and excited to start my new career at PPEC."
