In a season marked by gratitude and compassion, Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative proudly led four impactful community initiatives, leaving a trail of warmth, joy, and support across the region.
Honoring Veterans on Veterans Day
On November 11, 2024, PPEC hosted a Veterans Day Donation Drive. Members and the community donated full-size toiletry items like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste. These items filled several large boxes, which were given to Clothes For Joes, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans in NW Ohio and NE Indiana. Operation Christmas Child: Spreading Holiday Cheer Worldwide
This year, PPEC’s employees showcased the spirit of giving by donating 15 shoe boxes to Operation Christmas Child. Collaborating with Samaritan’s Purse, this international program sends Christmas presents to children in need around the globe. Each box is filled with care and hygiene items, school supplies, water bottles, toys, and more. To learn more about this initiative, visit samaritanspurse.org.
Winter Coat Drive: Wrapping the Community in Warmth
PPEC’s commitment to the community continued with a Winter Coat Drive, aiming to keep local families warm throughout the winter. A total of 80 coats in sizes from 2T to Adult XL were collected. The coats were donated to Continental Elementary, Oakwood Elementary, Paulding County Opportunity Center, Paulding County Christmas for Kids, St. James Lutheran Food Pantry in New Haven, IN, and Thomas Edison Preschool in Van Wert, OH.
Employees Raise over $1,900 for Local Charities
PPEC staff came together to raise more than $1,900, which will be split between three local organizations:
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana, which provides a “home away from home” for families of children receiving medical care. To learn more about their mission, visit rmhc.org.
- Justice Animal Rescue, which is a foster-based, non-profit rescue located outside of Grover Hill, Ohio. To learn more about this organization, visit facebook.com/JAR-Justice-Animal-Rescue.
A Season of Cooperation and Care
As the season unfolds, PPEC demonstrates the cooperative principle of concern for the community, highlighting that collective efforts, no matter how small, can greatly benefit those in need.
