Congratulations to Member Service Representative Jamie Mericle, who was voted by PPEC's employees as the 2024 Quarter 2 Rockstar Employee! This internal quarterly recognition program allows employees to nominate and vote on deserving co-workers who they feel have gone above and beyond or deserve recognition. 

Jamie joined the PPEC team just over a year ago in August of 2023. Her role at the co-op has grown from assisting members through phone calls to taking on the accounting roles of bank reconciliation and accounts payable. 

Q&A with Jamie after receiving the award:

• What does the Rockstar Award mean to you?

"To me, the Rockstar Award is an opportunity to recognize someone who has gone above and beyond at work or someone who stepped up when needed. While the award was quite a surprise, I'm grateful that my hard work and dedication were recognized by my fellow coworkers."

• What projects or tasks have you been working on the last quarter? Do you have a favorite job/task/part of your work?

"My favorite part of work is having the chance to educate members on the various benefits the co-op has to offer. For example, capital credits and our home energy analytics software are available via SmartHub."

• Why do you enjoy working at PPEC/with your co-workers? 

"Since I've only been with Paulding Putnam for a little over a year now, my skillset has improved considerably. I laugh because when I first started, I couldn't even complete a phone call without letting members know I was new at PPEC and would need to place them on a brief hold to find a coworker who would be able to assist me. Now, not only am I able to help members with their requests on my own, but I've also taken advantage of the opportunity to learn a few accounting roles, such as bank reconciliation and accounts payable."
